error TS7016: Could not find a declaration file for module '<pkg>'. '<path>/node_modules/<pkg>/index.js' implicitly has an 'any' type.
Cause
the package ships plain JS with no .d.ts and no @types/<pkg> is installed; under noImplicitAny (part of strict, on by default since TS 6.0) an untyped import is an error.
Fix
npm view @types/<pkg> version # does a DefinitelyTyped package exist?npm install --save-dev @types/<pkg> # yes: install it# no: create src/types/<pkg>.d.ts (inside tsconfig "include") containing# declare module '<pkg>';Don’t try
"skipLibCheck": true — only skips checking .d.ts files that exist; a missing declaration file is still TS7016.
// @ts-ignore above the import, or "strict": false — hides the report while the module stays any; strict false also turns off noImplicitAny and the other strict checks project-wide.
