forge deploy / forge lint: Error: Invalid response body
while trying to fetch ...: Premature close — on every run, both for the lint swagger download and the wrapper.js download during packaging
Cause
@forge/cli fetches the lint swagger specs and the deploy wrapper.js asset via node-fetch@2, whose gzip handling is broken on Node 22.x and 24.17.x, so every such download closes early.
Fix
nvm install 24.9.0 && nvm use 24.9.0# CI: actions/setup-node with node-version: "24.9.0" exactly ("24" resolves to 24.17.x, which is broken)Don’t try
forge deploy --no-verify — skips only the lint download; the packaging wrapper.js download still dies.
node-version "24" in CI — resolves to 24.17.x, which carries the bug.
retry the same deploy on the same Node — the node-fetch gzip failure is deterministic on those Node versions (4/4 failures), unlike the separate transient upload flake.
